Covid and Denplan

We’ve had a few patients enquiries regarding Denplan in the past few days, so here’s a little blog to help clear some things up. Please rest assured that once we are able, we will fulfill our contractual obligations to all our Denplan patients, and don’t worry if your routine check up and hygiene visit is now overdue.

We are sorry that your regular treatment has been interrupted but as you can imagine, we are trying to protect not only our patients, but our wider community too. Now is a challenging time for all of us, and we want to reassure you that we are taking all necessary steps to protect your safety, your family’s safety and the safety of our practice team.

Postponing routine appointments

All routine appointments have been suspended from the 20th March 2020 in keeping with the current government advice. If you have a routine appointment booked you can expect to hear from us again shortly to postpone your appointment to a later date. We currently don’t know when we will be allowed to reopen, but rest assured that as soon as we can, we will.

Don’t worry though, you will not miss out on any of the dental care you need. Once we’re able to get back to our normal operation we will be extending our opening hours to catch-up on any postponed appointments – which will be covered as always by your monthly Denplan payments.

All the dentists, health permitting, will also be available for telephone conversations and advice in normal working hours. Please let our reception team know and your dentist will call you back at a mutually convenient time.

We’re still here for emergencies

Please rest assured that we are still open as normal to provide emergency care. If you experience a problem, you can still call the practice to go through our regular emergency appointment procedure and we will aim to see you for treatment on the same day. Our rota for providing out-of-hours care is also still in place to make sure you can get the treatment you need at any time. You can call the main line on 0121 550 6958, our mobile on 0737 550 6958, email us at info@halesowendental.co.uk or even drop us a Facebook message and someone will reply to you as soon as possible.

Supporting you in any way we can

You are really important to us – you’re part of our practice family. All of us at the practice are here to help in any way we can. If you’re isolating and need assistance getting essentials or anything else, please call the reception team and we will be happy to help you where we can.

If your job or income is a concern for you during this time, please let our reception team know in confidence. We will look at how we can help support you and keep you registered as a Denplan patient, until things get back to normal.

Contacting Denplan

If you wish to contact Denplan themselves with regards to payments, please call the Patient Support Team on 0800 401 402. You will need to have your patient registration number, which you will find on your paperwork. We, as a practice, do not deal with the direct debit side of things so you will need to speak to Denplan direct about this.

Remember, Denplan is a budgeting dental membership plan, and it’s purpose is to allow our patients to spread the cost of care over an entire year. Continuing to spread the cost with a fixed monthly payment at this challenging time will help reduce the risk of large bills for treatment later in the year.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please remember to check our website and social media pages for further updates. We look forward to treating you soon!
