Vaping has really become popular in the last few years. Infact I think I see more vapers on the street now than I do with people with actual cigarettes. It’s been marketed as the safer option against smoking, and because it’s just ‘air’, it’s also risen in popularity in the under 20’s category as well. But with more use, comes more studies, and it’s becoming clear that vaping isn’t all that great either.
Vaping and smoking both have their own risks and potential harms. While vaping is often considered to be less harmful than smoking traditional cigarettes, it is not without its own set of risks. Vaping involves inhaling aerosolized substances, which can contain nicotine, chemicals, and other potentially harmful ingredients. Additionally, the long-term effects of vaping are still being studied, and there is ongoing debate about its safety. It’s important to note that neither vaping nor smoking is considered safe or healthy, and quitting both is the best option for overall health.
It’s best not to see vaping as a way of quitting the cigarettes. If you need help with quiting, please speak to your dentist at your next appointment. Or visit the NHS website by clicking here.
