Update on Covid-19 as of 14/05/2020
Hi folks!
So, Sunday’s announcement from Boris Johnson didn’t exactly answer all our questions on when we can re-open the practice, but then it was only a 15 minute broadcast!
We’re still awaiting clarity on a number of issues from the government, our governing bodies and the Chief Dental Officer, which will hopefully be forthcoming within the next few days or weeks.
We can’t reopen until it is deemed safe for us to do so, with measures in place to protect our patients. But rest assured that there is plenty of work going on in the background to get the practice back open. Our number one priority is, and always has been, to get back to treating our patients as soon as we can, but as safely as we can.
We would all like to thank you for your patience and understanding at this very strange time. I know some of you are probably getting a bit frustrated, especially if you have a problem that we can’t deal with as directly as we would usually like to. Rest assured, we are just as frustrated and really want to get back to what we do best: creating smiles!
We will, of course, notify you all as soon as anything changes.
In the mean time, we’re still here to help and advise if you have a dental problem! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Practice Announcement on Covid-19
We are sorry to inform you that we have unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to close the practice for the time being, due to the current outbreak. We have been advised by our governing body that we are not to carry out any non-essential treatment (such as exams, scaling, fillings, crown preps etc) and not to carry out any aerosol generating procedures.
Social distancing has also been advised by the Government, and as you can imagine, this is next to impossible to implement in a dental practice setting.
We are cancelling all appointments from now, until the 20th April, at which point we will review the situation and see what our next steps will be. We will be contacting everyone with appointments booked before this date shortly.
As a practice, we have a duty of care to our patients, so we will be available for emergencies only. We ask that you only contact us if you have any of the following:
- An unexplained facial swelling that is getting worse
- A dental abscess (which is a swelling in the mouth that is oozing and painful)
- persistent bleeding that won’t stop with pressure
- fractured teeth with nerve exposure which is causing pain
We will be available on the phone, so please feel free to call us on 0121 550 6958 or 0737 550 6958 for any advice.
Please make sure you phone us before attending the practice. We can offer over the phone consultations, and video calls if necessary.
This is a difficult time for everyone. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, but we need to look after our staff and patients alike, so appreciate everyone’s co-operation during this time. We urge everyone to stay at home, take care of each other, and we will see you on the other side.
Aditi, Manoj, Pav, Sareena, Cass, Amy, Terri, Sonia, Dawn, Clare and Sarah.
